Can You Help?
New members are always most welcome to the following groups. If you wish to be a part of any of these ministries, please contact the parish office on 3372 5658:

Mass welcomers
When you arrive at Mass it is good to see a friendly welcoming face handing out the newsletters and giving advice on seating.

Ministers of the Word
Would you like to have the privilege of reading the Word of God at Mass or leading the community in prayer by reading the Prayers of Intercessions? Readers of all ages are most welcome.

Liturgy Group
The Liturgy Group is responsible for writing the prayers of the faithful each week, and preparing the church for the weekend Mass and for feast days eg changing the linen and church back drops. The group has monthly meetings.

Church cleaning
This important ministry saves the parish a lot of money. Keeping the church clean involves working in a group to vacuum carpets, sweep floors and clean toilets.

Help is also needed to keep the sacred vessels clean and polished.

Church gardens
The Church and Presbytery gardens require regular mowing and maintenance. With the current water restrictions this is a challenge, are you able to help keep our plants alive?

Counting church collections
This can be done on Sunday or Monday mornings.  Experience in cash handling/counting is useful.

Hospitality Group
This group provides refreshments for the monthly Healing Mass, for parish celebrations and for funerals when required.

Care & Concern Group
St Mark's Care & Concern provides practical assistance to the needy such as transport, housework and meals to both parishioners and members of the wider Inala community.  The Care & Concern group  takes communion to the sick of our parish and does visitation. The group receives support and spiritual formation for their ministry with regular group meetings.

The Parish is looking at developing a  Support Group for Families who have a member with a disability.  If you are interested in this area of pastoral care work or know of a family who would be in need of support, please contact the parish office or Kathie Ober.

Sacramental Program
This program to prepare children to receive the sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation will commence on April 20th, 2008.  The Sacraments will be celebrated on August 3rd, 2008 at 11am.  Experience working with children is preferred, and all volunteers would be required to obtain a "Blue Card" - (parish office would organize).

Catholics Returning Home
This program is an outreach to Catholics who no longer attend Mass, encouraging them to participate fully in parish life.  Some people have been hurt by the Church in their past, and healing of this hurt may be needed.

Fundraising Group
This is a new group which will raise funds to support the church and all our ministries. Typical duties will be selling raffle tickets, organizing craft/food stalls, cent auctions etc. The group will have the full use of all parish office resources.
